Dr. Stephen E. Godfrey, Medical Director

Stephen Godfrey, M.D. serves as Medical Director for Flow Applications, Inc. Dr. Godfrey is a certified Diplomat of the American Board of Pathology in both anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr Godfrey is a Fellow in the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Dr. Godfrey is the perennial Secretary-Treasurer for the Society of St. Louis Pathologists, and serves on the Board of Governors for the University of Missouri Medical Alumni Association, having received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri Medical School. Dr. Godfrey holds a Master of Arts degree in Health Services Management from Webster University. Dr. Godfrey's career in pathology and laboratory medicine includes two years as Chief Medical Officer for Unity Labs LLC, a joint venture between Quest Diagnostics and the Unity Health hospital integrated delivery network in St. Louis. Dr. Godfrey has published scholarly articles in several prominent medical journals. Dr. Godfrey’s current medical staff appointments include St. Louis University Hospital. Dr. Godfrey is presently the Medical Director for Path Counsel Pathology Legal Consultations and for Peace of Mind Private Autopsy Services.

Mr. Klem is Chairman of the Board and a shareholder of Flow Applications. He brings 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and general management with large and small technology companies to Flow Apps. Mr. Klem is currently an executive and part owner of a private cyber security services company that focuses on protecting the nation’s cyber infrastructure. Mr. Klem has been an executive officer in two public companies and the Chief Executive Officer of a private equity backed technology provider. His experience spans both domestic and international responsibilities in government and private sector markets, partnership management and new business development. He also held executive positions in business development at Planning Research Corporation, now a part of Northrop Grumman. He began his career with Computer Sciences Corporation after serving in the Army as a Military Intelligence Officer. He is a graduate of Knox College with a BA in International Relations and is a Distinguished Military Graduate. He serves on the board of Flow Applications and is an Emeritus board member of the Make a Wish Foundation of the Mid Atlantic. He lives with his wife in Vienna, Virginia.

Mr. Hickey is President, Chief Operating Officer, shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors of Flow Applications. Mr. Hickey brings 30 years of experience in Medical Diagnostics sales, marketing, product and project management with leading companies in Immuno-diagnostics and Blood cell analysis. His experience spans the Clinical Laboratory Industry in both products and services delivery with responsibilities in government, private sector and health care markets. Mr. Hickey has lead teams in the development and launch of laboratory products in Flow cytometry, Hematology and Immuno-diagnostics. Mr. Hickey is a Board certified, licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist with a bachelor's of Science degree from The George Washington University Medical School. His scholastic area of concentration emphasized Quality control management, Pharmacology and Clinical Chemistry.

Joseph Martinez is a research biologist with 25 years of Flow Cytometry experience. He has undergraduate degrees from George Washington University, and the University of Wisconsin. He also has a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, and graduate training in immunology/microbiology from the Medical College of Georgia. Prior to joining Flow Applications, he spent 13 years as the head of the Flow Cytometry laboratory within the Respiratory Diseases Section at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He has developed multiplexed assays for flow cytometric, Luminex, and ELISA platforms. He is the lead inventor on two US patents for multiplexed immunological assays, and co-inventor for a pending patent for an immunological adjunct molecule.
